Our Team
Allan Himowicz
Chef
Chef/Owner Allan, has over 31 year’s experience starting from The Hyde Park Hotel, The Dorchester, Excelsior Palace Hotel (Rapallo, Italy), and several luxury cruise liners such as, The CUNARD, Silversea and Yachts of Seabourn. Returning to the UK, Allan has worked as Head Chef for Caldesi in Campagna – Bray and Marcellos – Chorleywood until finally opening his own restaurant in Chorleywood – GUSTO.
Maria Arroyo-Himowicz
Managing Director
Maria's background starts with growing up in the kitchen learning from her grandmother then travelling around the world tasting dishes unique to each country. In the end, pastry became her passion and earned her Pastry degree from the prestigious French Culinary Institute, New York. Wanting Their daughter to appreciate Filipino food, Maria started to cook her favourite meals at home.
Luca Li Gobbi
Restaurant Manager
Luca has more than 20 years of experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry as a head waiter, supervisor and restaurant manager at several establishments including Santini’s and the Dover Street Club and Restaurant in London, Caldesi in Bray and BiancoNero in Maidenhead. Luca has recently joined Allan and Maria’s family at Gusto, bringing his unquenchable passion for wine and fine dining to guide you toward an exclusive dining experience to match Allan’s delicacies.

First time dining out since lock down. Whoopee ! Decided to support local as could walk down. Not disappointed. We both had the risotto one as a starter, one as a main course. Fantastic. I had the crab pasta as a main course, my wife had the mozzarella as a starter, both gorgeous. We were recommended the Sicilian Rose and we were not disappointed. Two courses each, bottle of wine, 10% tip, bargain at £77.00. We will be regulars. Highly recommended.

Even better than when they were based in Chorleywood
We used to visit Gusto regularly in Chorleywood before the restaurant moved to Amersham. It was previously ranked 1st in Chorleywood on TripAdvisor. Reviews started from scratch again after they moved to Amersham, but it’s the same great chef and the food is even better than we remembered. The new tapas menu was lovely, lots of variety to choose from and all extremely tasty, all of the brilliant quality we’ve come to expect from Allan the chef. Our 2-year-old also loves the food, and she’ll eat anything Allan cooks up (even all the vegetables!), but she especially likes the spring rolls. The new homemade ice cream is also brilliant and we can’t get enough. We’d highly recommend it.
